The European Summer University (ESU) of the European ATTACS support the "No Means No" call from Ireland. The ESU supports the three times "NON", "NEE" (to the European Constitution in France and the Netherlands) and the "NO" in Ireland - to the almost identical Lisbon Treaty. This Treaty is dead: we will accept no tricks or promises to bring it back to life.

The European ATTACs continue to call for an democratic, social and peaceful Europe - issues which were significant in achieving the NO majority in Ireland.

We reject any attempts to put pressure on the people of Ireland to vote again. The democratic decision of the people of Ireland must be respected by the leaders of the EU.

The ESU supports the call for "No Means No" actions at the offices of the EU (Commission or European Parliament, or government offices as appropriate) in the cities of Europe on October 11, prior to the European Council meeting on October 15/16. We call upon all democratic organisations to support and participate in the October 11 actions.

We will raise the call for "No Means No" at the European Social Forum, and in the organisations in which we are involved – social organisations, trade unions and political parties.
